Frequently asked questions

ChatGPT still feels slow. What should I check?

1. Click the extension icon and make sure the popup shows your profile is active (try Max Speed).

2. Refresh the ChatGPT tab after changing settings.

3. Very long chats are also slowed down by OpenAI's own servers — the extension removes the browser-side lag (typing, scrolling, rendering), but it cannot speed up the model's responses.

Something in ChatGPT looks broken after an update

OpenAI changes ChatGPT's interface frequently, which can temporarily break optimizations. Toggle Performance Mode off in the popup (or switch to the Reading profile) as a workaround, and send a message above — fixes usually ship quickly.

Where did the images / code colors go?

That's an optimization, not a bug. Hide Images replaces images with click-to-load placeholders, and Strip Code Colors removes syntax highlighting to lighten rendering. Both can be turned off in the popup under Settings → Rendering.

How do I change the language?

Popup → SettingsLanguage. "Auto" follows your browser's language; you can also pick any of the 15 supported languages manually.

What are the keyboard shortcuts?

Ctrl+Shift+F — search in the conversation.

Ctrl+Shift+M — open the conversation map.

Does the extension read or upload my conversations?

It reads the page locally to apply optimizations — and nothing ever leaves your browser. No analytics, no tracking, no servers. See the full Privacy Policy.

Can I undo everything the extension does?

Yes. Every optimization is reversible from the popup, and disabling or uninstalling the extension returns ChatGPT to exactly its default behavior. Your conversations are never modified or deleted.

Enjoying Speed Booster? These two clicks help more than you'd think.
